I must say, the Pistons organization is the cream of the crop in the NBA. They’re going to be very good this season with Iverson. I find it interesting that part of the motivation for the trade was for Rodney Stuckey to get on the job training on how to be aggressive directly from the most aggressive player in the league.   Michael Curry is right when saying that a coach can only do so much, and that a lot of the learning comes from other players.  Who better to learn from than Allen Iverson?

Former UCLA Bruins connected on a sick off the backboard pass/dunk move in Raptors vs Lakers preseason game last night.  They must be excited to both be playing for their hometown team in LA.  Jordan Farmar will have a breakout season this year.  He’s going to get 25 minutes a game and Ariza may start for the Lakers if Odom becomes a sixth man.  LA fans have much to look forward to this year.  Ariza is an athletic freak, if he can stay consistent he’ll be a good contributor this year on the defensive end similar to .

Ramon was all but done.  His was on his last leg, spending the season in the D-league after being drafted at the butt end of the 2007 draft.  Then, he gets called up and expects to ride the bench while Mo Williams plays.  That all changed the moment Mo got hurt, and Ramon’s number was called.  He didn’t just ’show up’, he ‘tore up’ the NBA in the final month of the season.  Here’s his line:

As you can see, all you have to do is look at his assists per game, compared with minutes per game. The guy’s a beast who could possibly play at the level of Deron Williams and Chris Paul. Although these numbers don’t jump off the page, take a look at these from the last 3 games of the season:

Look at the assists, points and turnovers. The guy is a special player, these numbers happened in his 15th, 16th and 17th game of his CAREER.  There’s a reason why Mo Williams was let go, and there’s also a reason why you should draft Ramon in your fantasy league in the mid-rounds, because he will be top 10 in assists next season.

It is being reported that Rodney Stuckey is going to get 30 minutes a game this season for the Pistons.  If you have watched Pistons games this past season, you would know Rodney is a future All-Star in the making. If they were smart and thinking of the future, they would get rid of either Billups or Hamilton to get Stuckey a guaranteed 30 minutes a game. I know that Hamilton and Billups have been great, bringing respectability and rings to Detroit, but they are not getting any younger and the Pistons need to keep up with the freakishly athletic NBA and get some speed and muscle in the backcourt. Rodney is that person.

Stuckey showed the world his strength and grit in the playoffs last year. He was one of the only Pistons that had the physical ability and strength to make it to the end of the game.  At 6′5, 205, he’s a load to deal with and can handle any guard in the league.  Remember when he was out there in the final minutes, looking like he just stepped on the court? This shows the Detroit fans what they should expect in the future. You want your guards to do a few things in the NBA- namely get to the line, shoot, defend and get steals. Stuckey has the ability to fit that bill and he is only going to get better and stronger in the years to come. Fanhouse details how Detroit is planning to use him this season. He should definitely be valuable if he’s getting 30 minutes a game.
