From what I’ve seen in presason, he looks quicker than everyone else on the court. Maybe he was worth the first pick. He’s pretty impressive thus far, let’s see some real time action.

What’s new? The Knicks screw up the 2008 draft by taking Danilo Gallinari. I would say he has similar jumping ability to Adonal Foyle and has the same foot speed as Roy Hibbert (in other words - not good). He does have a good shot apparently, but that’s not really that big of a deal. Now, the new story out of New York is that Gallinari might be going to the D-League. That should make kids cry in Knicks-land, because this just means the guy doesn’t have it. He does have an injury, but I still don’t see him being a star in the NBA. I called it out when the draft happened, that the Knicks should have taken Jarryd Bayless or Eric Gordon. Both these athletes will be quality NBA players and have the skills to be big-time. Gallinari should have gone in the late-first round at the earliest.
This is shockingly bad for the Knicks. When a team is in re-build mode like New York, you want your lottery pick to get minutes right off the bat and start learning the NBA game. To see that Gallinari is going to the NBDL means he is far away from being a starter. The Knicks almost seem like they want to fail. They could have had future stars in Bayless or Gordon, but chose a stick-in-the-mud in Gallinari.

This is sick. You don’t want to play this guy in horse. That’s for sure. Kevin is an asset, don’t think he was worth the high lottery pick he received, but he is a solid post guy. The Wolves need him down low, so they got a good player. The question remains however is how good he’ll play against NBA type athletes who are much quicker and stronger than him. He was dominated by the hyper athletic Memphis Tigers in the Final Four last season. It was obvious he couldn’t keep up with the players and was banged around all night. We’ll know a lot more about Kev when he steps on the court next month with the beasts down low in the NBA. I think he’ll do fine….but will he be great? That’s the real question. Oh, and check out these trick shots. Damn!!!

According to a recent ESPN post, Doc Rivers has been praising 46th overall pick, Bill Walker. I have been contending all offseason that Bill should have been drafted in the mid-late first round. Any team that passed him in the 2nd will be regretting it for years to come.
Walker has been compared to Vince Carter for a reason. He can fly. He had 2 injuries to his knee, so teams were scared. He’s going to be a classic steal in the 2nd round if he stays healthy. As seen below, Bill Walker has the jumping ability of a kangaroo. He needs 1 or 2 years of NBA experience, then Boston fans can expect to see an athletic freak light it up.
