There are rumors galore this morning that Al Harrington and Marco Belinelli will be traded to the Knicks, Eddy Curry and David Lee will go to the Bobcats and Gerald Wallace will come to the Warriors. This would be a great trade for the Warriors, while adding some depth to the Knicks and Bobcats. Unfortunately, this will do nothing to help the Bobcats and Knicks crawl out of the basement of the NBA. I suppose, the Warriors could go big, running S-Jax and Maggette at the guards, Wallace and Wright at forward at AB at center. Then when Monta Ellis comes back they could just throw Wright on the bench and have a small, hyper-athletic starting line-up. They would be the most exciting team in the NBA, and their defense would improve greatly.
As for the Knicks, they would get Donnie Walsh’s favorite player, Al Harrington. Not sure why Al is his favorite player, considering he is the worst rebounding power forward in the league. The Knicks would also get Marco Belinelli, another Italian for D’Antoni to use in his run and gun offense. I guess the Knicks want to get longer and be able to shoot more 3’s, but this would not help their defensive woes, but make them worse. Of course, they would also be able to unload one of their many awful contracts to Charlotte. The Bobcats, would get two starters in David Lee and Curry. They could throw Curry next to Okafor and get bigger and fatter, while starting *gasp, eyes roll*, Adam Morrison. This would be an extreme defensive downgrade, as Adam Morrison can’t really guard anyone in the NBA. As a Warriors fan, I pray we get Wallace. We would have one of the most athletic teams in the league, and our stock would rise significantly.

1Al Harrington is a cry baby. What player wouldn’t want to play on the Warriors? The Knicks will still suck balls.

2Um, if the Knicks do this, its not because they love Harrington…its because they want to unload Curry’s stupid contract for Harrington’s contract (which I believe expires this year or next year). that would help them significantly for the 2010 free agent class.

5Gerald Wallace would be a good pick up at the expense of Al Harrington and Marco Bellineli, but for some reason I doubt it’ll happen.
