Insight Into NBA News, Rumors, and Humor.

You have to love Charles’s honesty. He doesn’t sugar coat anything and gives his opinion. In this case, I think I’ll side with Lebron. Although LJ does mention his future free agency when interviewed, it’s truly the media that has created all this speculation. The major news outlets (ESPN, TNT and Fox) have been saying Knicks this and Knicks that, but his free agency is two years away and no one really knows what’s being planned by NBA teams. Lebron could be quieter, but he’s really just taking a page out of Barkley’s book by answering the questions honestly when asked.

It’s true, 2010 is a big year in free agency, and Lebron is one of, if not the best players in the NBA. Barkley can make a lot of good points, but here he’s gone a bit too far. Lebron is going to get paid upwards of $30 million or more per year when he is signed. Maybe more. It will be the biggest free agency signing in the history of the NBA. The media asks him day and day out, and he probably should be a bit more buttoned up about it, but would Charles have been back in his playing days? I think not.

NBA Fantasy Waiver Wire Pick Ups Week 5

Eric Gordon - Two words: Eric Gordon. Get him now. If he gets minutes, he’ll be a great asset for your squad on going. Just look at the numbers, they don’t lie:

Larry Hughes - I know, it’s Larry Hughes. The man, the legend. The guy with the worst shot selection in NBA history and about as erratic as anyone…but he’s getting 35 minutes a game recently. He’s costing the Bulls $12,827,676 this season and they are going to run him into the ground until captain Kirk comes back. He’ll hurt your FG% for sure, but he might get some good points and he seems to be shooting 3’s better somehow. Obviously that won’t last, I’m not even sure why I wrote that. Anyways, if you’re hurting at SG and need points and assists, he’ll be a good addition until February when Kirk comes back.

Luis Scola - He’s only 25% owned in ESPN leagues at the moment, but he’s a rebounding beast. With constant injuries to the ever fragile Mcgrady and Yao, expect Luis to continue to crash the boards and hit a good FG%. He’s a scrappy guy and you should grab him if you have an extra spot or need rebounds. He should continue to get decent #s even if Tracy Mcgrady and Yao are somehow healthy in the future.

Trevor Ariza - Trevor is on the verge of becoming a stat stuffing machine. If he gets 25 or 30 minutes a night somehow, I would consider him a hot pick-up and would grab him immediately. His past 3 games, he is seeing increased minutes as he shows Phil Jackson, Kobe and all the Lakers fans how good he can be. He’s not so much a scorer, but a lock-down defensive player, which is what the Lakers have been looking for. He’s quicker than Odom and much harder to play against. Just look at his lines the past 3 games. He’s filling the assists, steals and rebounds categories nicely and you should grab him now or at least look at him closely (especially his minutes).

*Update 11/28 - Ariza scored 15 on 7-12 shooting in 30 minutes. Add a block, steal, three and 3 assists to that. 30 minutes is the key stat here, as he played in a very competitive game.

stephon marbury

Wow!! What a shocker. Knicks player Quentin Richardson doesn’t consider Marbury to be a teammate? What? That’s insane. Wait, could it be that a guy who refuses to play and is a locker room cancer also could be considered a ‘non-teammate’? Obviously, the Knicks have created this. They can play victim all day, but they have let Stephon Marbury fester on the bench like an open sore needing serious treatment. Instead of trying to repair the injury, they are letting flies buzz around it while it rots. Disgusting anology I know, but seriously. If I actually cared about the Knicks, I’d be pissed!! To quote Richardson:

“The way the situation is, I don’t consider him my teammate,” Richardson said. “He hasn’t played with us all year. He doesn’t want to play with us. This is the second time. I don’t look at him as a teammate. Teammates don’t do that, regardless what’s going on with the coach. You don’t do that to teammates. We were basically left out there.”

Why Melo cut his hair

I know it’s old, but per reader requests….here’s the reason why. He looks more ‘mature’ with his haircut and less thuggish. Still can’t shoot worth a damn though, pulling in a 39% FG. Melo, hit the gym and practice your stroke.

I have nothing to say.  Nothing….except, what is he smoking at the beginning, a newport, weed or crack?  Hmmmmmm?????  Who knows, it IS Ron Artest, so anything goes, including starving his dogs.
